OK, this is a simple plate that add structural rigidity to the double crossover. Like Magma states in the quad pod manual....it is not necessary, yet, you might like to add this. It reduces the flex of the double crossover, especially when it had the grill and a griddle top on it. Since my grill lives outside, and does not get transported(as in an RV), the reduced flexing was important to me. As to no instructions-the other posters are correct. There are none. You get the plate and 9 bolts, 9 lock washers, and 9 nuts. Slide it into place and you see where the 8 nuts and bolts go. Simple as that. If you need directions, maybe you should not be using a grill? Not trying to pick a fight or anything, just pointing out that the quad pod mount takes 4 bolts, the plate takes another 8. You should put the plate on before mounting the quad pod mount, yet, it is easy to remove the mount and add the stiffener plate. I know as I used the quad pod without the plate before I added it. For the price, with additional shipping, I consider this a "no brainer" is you use the double burner crossover with the quad pod and have the grill and griddle on at the same time.
