Great little griddle
Iβve been a blackstone user for 8 years. Last year I switched to the camping blackstone w a burner and a ceramic coated griddle because it was lighter weight and smaller so it fits in my rv. It felt like I was using an easy bake oven from when I was a kid because of quality. I looked at tons of different options and came across the magma firebox. I ordered the plancha top because I like cooking on the steel surface better than a non stick. This griddle is definitely built better! The middle does get hotter than the sides, but it works for what Iβm cooking. Gets hot quick and maintains that heat in the wind and cold. Plancha top is super easy to clean and my food doesnβt stick. I ended up ordering the quad pod because the table I was using wasnβt sturdy enough. This griddle does have some weight to it- 36 lbs for the firebox and another 16 for the plancha top, but itβs compact and fits where I need it to go. I had a hose for my blackstone that I now use w the Magma so I can use the larger propane tanks.
I like the cutting board on the lid and the handle is heavier duty than the one in the blackstone.
I do wish that I could close the lid on the firebox w the plancha on it so I could use the cover easier. Now I have to wait until it cools down, remove the plancha top, put a piece of cardboard down so I donβt scratch the lid, add the plancha to the top and then cover. Not a big deal, but easier to leave on.
All in all, Iβm glad I switched to Magma and wished I would have foundβ¦
